Default Detector won't remain off when reset

Recently I was traveling through Virginia so I turned off the detector portion of my iQ. All was well for a while, passed several state police without a noise. But, then we stopped to eat lunch, and after about an hour the unit did it's normal time-out power off. We get back in truck, turned on the device and resumed our travels, all the while the unit still says the detector is OFF. Well we pop over a hill where two police are sitting in the median and low behold the unit begins making Ka noise, however it didn't pop up the signal bars, and still displayed OFF in the left corner. Upon cycling it back to Highway and then to OFF again, it resumed its status of no detecting.

This same thing happened again on the way back home going thru DC. So it seems if the unit powers on while the detector portion is in the off status, it will in effect continue to run the detector. Is this a known issue and is there a remedy for this?

Thank you for reporting this BobaFett. I have forwarded it to engineering. In the meantime I advise cycling the detector through it's detection modes after it comes out of reset status.

BTW, weren't you eaten by a Sarlacc a long time ago in a galaxy far far away

Why yes. But my trusty thermal detonator allowed my escape.

BobaFett,

We cannot duplicate this here. When coming out of standby mode the detector will not detect when it is off.

Do you have the latest firmware installed? If you have a red "Emergency" button on the main menu screen then you have the latest firmware installed.
