Default Love my Passport Max2 BUT - why so many K band alerts?

I love my Passport Max 2 BUT - why so many K band alerts recently?

I use it with my phone and Escort Live. I block all the K band alerts when I get them... but this weekend I was getting a K band alert every couple minutes or so. I ended up having to disconnect the Max 2 from power since it would not stop going off.

I kept blocking them on my phone like I normally do... but they kept coming.

Drove from Central WA State to Seattle to Camano Island and back. The Max 2 would not stop alerting to K band.

I've driven numerous states with this Max 2 as well as this same trip a couple times a month so I am familiar with the occasional K band alert due to peoples blind spot detectors... but this weekend was way outside of normal.

Is my Max 2 dying?

Your MAX 2 may not have the latest IVT Filtering software installed. Its IVT Filter rejects alerts from vehicles with radar based In-Vehicle Technology.

To verify, download and install Detector Tools Pro to your computer (Mac version here) then connect your MAX 2 to your computer using a USB to Mini-USB data transfer cable.

When you select to update the detector's firmware, Detector Tools Pro will inform you if you already have the latest version installed.

No. Same car for few years. Nothing has changed on my end.

I would update the detector as suggested. Next make sure your in auto mode. If your detector has auto low K as an option you could try that as well. Last you will have to just understand that no detector can filter these new vehicle safety systems 100% of the time.

Yea, I will update it again. I did so a few months ago but there may be changes.

I understand that no detector can filter these new vehicle safety systems... but my issue is that I have used this Max 2 for a while now and I drive 150+ miles a day so I am very familiar with it and how it acts. For some yet to be known reason it now goes off all the time with K band alerts. Even after repeatedly blocking them via my phone/Escort Live.

Nothing has changed on my end. No new car, no new phone, no new windshield, no changes. Just all of the sudden: Massive increase in K band alerts.

I would love it if we had the option to disable K band alerts when GPS recognizes the vehicle speed @ 45+ MPH. I still want K band for in town alerts but on the interstate/highway I don't believe its needed and it would save the hassle of all the blind spot detectors setting it off.

Sounds like k band emitting from other vehicles, so blocking has no effect they are all different frequencies, places and therefore can't can't lock onto via gps. Auto mode helps and yes an upgrade on filtering will help.
