Default Dark Screen

I just bought a Escort IX, first of all when I plug it into my car the display is dark, nothing shows up, seems like everything is working ok except the display.

#2, I am trying to register my detector and it is saying that it has been registered before, this is a new item, I did not buy it second hand.

Thanks
Karl

Both of these sound suspicious, especially if you purchased it directly from Escort.
Could it have been a returned item to the store where you purchased it? If it was a return maybe the prior owner left it in Dark Mode. Otherwise it sounds like you should return it.

Sounds like a box store or E-Bay purchase. I would be quite surprised and even demand an explanation if this was purchased direct from Escort.

I suggest you to return the item and buy another one .

Be aware that if you are buying from a marketplace merchant on Amazon, the detector's warranty may be invalid. If it was purchased from Escort on Amazon, or from Amazon itself ("sold and shipped by Amazon"), then you're safe.
