Default ESCORT MAX 360c dissapointing

I recently purchased an Escort MAX 360c to replace a MAX2. I have used it for two days in highway/non-highway driving. I wanted the latest technology especially signal arrows and improved rejection ability of lane assist frequencies. I must say I'm greatly disappointed in the performance. The arrows seem to be random and I'm still getting a lot of false signals. Some do not stop for several miles. I am using it with the factory settings.
Has anyone else noticed these problems or is it just me?
I did start the return process with Escort

Before doing so, try updating its firmware using Detector Tools Pro. You have a 30-day trial of the max 360c, and I love mine.

Are you sure these are not coming from your own car?

I am thinking this too poolmon.

wingman,
It is possible that your car is generating the false alerts. If so, then you should notice it happening more when you are near other vehicles, or objects, and less when nothing is around your vehicle. Should this be the case, then there are not many options for you. Every detector, every detector that is sensitive enough, will alert to it. Try using Auto and Auto Lo K sensitivity modes, they should help.

Also be aware that fixed location false alerts (signals from automatic door openers, security systems, etc) will take a few passes before your MAX 360c learns them. You will get a "Stored" message on the display letting you know that the MAX 360c has stored a signal as a false alert and will ignore it on future passes.

I suggest you give it a few more days to figure out if the MAX 360c will fit your needs.

For what it’s worth, this 360c is worlds better than my old 9500ix units and they are still a good device.

ive been really happy with my max360c.. it's really quiet, havent had very many long range detections but the ones Ive had would have saved me if i would have been speeding

I too have been relatively pleased with the couple of 360c units we have.

I can’t comment on whether I have had best in class or the longest range, but I can say that I have gotten ample warning with sufficient time to adjust my speed as needed, not to mention it is pretty quiet and the arrows are much appreciated.

Also continue to enjoy the automatic lockouts just like my previous 9500ix and Max.

I too have been happy with each unit in the Max line, and the natural progression of the line. Each one has had incremental refinements and improvements over it's predecessor.

The Max II was my first unit with GPS. The Max 360 added arrows; and the 360c added (much needed) WiFi.

Just had a huge save yesterday. Winding two lane 40 mph road. Stuck behind two cars going well under the speed limit. Went to execute the pass and as soon as I moved over into the oncoming lane I saw a car coming in the distance.

Accelerated hard to pass and immediately began getting a Ka alert. Nothing visible up ahead and by the time I passed and settled back in the lane was doing over 60. Warning gradually ramped up so I applied the brakes and got down to 40 as I was approaching a curve.

Sure enough as I rounded the curve, there was a Sheriff’s cruiser sitting under an overpass.

Great save!
