OK Now I got another issue. The Passport Max thinks it's my Passport Max2. It is having a identity crisis. When you turn on the Max 1 it has a Bluetooth picture on the screen when using the Bluetooth Cord for it. But it is unable to pair with a phone now. If you use a regular cord it does not have a bluetooth symbol on the screen.

Maybe this is part of the new update for it. But I never saw that before on it. But me and my son both have the same Cell Phone and when I try and he tries to connect to the Smartcord it pairs but it does not connect. And the screen for the Max 1 is Blue like my Max 2. Now maybe it went back to default. But the smart cord should have connected to the phone. I better check that my Max 2 is still working ok.

Well through a bit of work and stuff it seems I got both to work. it seems that the Passport Max now shows the BT symbol of the Passport Max 2. That latest update must have been a large one cause it totally wiped the settings and everything. but the Max 1 and Max 2 are the same looking in the screen. It freaked me out at first cause I knew the Max 1 had a Amber screen and no BT symbol on the screen as you turned it on. It was Blue and had that picture on the screen when the BT cord was connected and I thought some how from going back and forth it put the Max 2 info into the Max 1. it would not connect to the BT for awhile. The phone kept saying Error.

So I think again all I need is for that subscription to be working. I trying redoing everthing tonight and it tells me that the subscription is already in use and I still have as you can see a Red Serial Number. it should have gone Green and the Data option ungreyed!

I'm glad to hear that your Max and Max2 are now working with your computer Mags.

Your Passport Max has never been registered and you entered the incorrect serial number for your Max when activating the 3 year Defender database subscription. I had had it fixed on our end. Detector Tools should now allow you to "merge" the latest Defender locations onto your Max now.

Your Max2 has been registered.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Wink Issue solved. Figured out a solution to your problem.

So I totally figured out a solution to your problem.

1. Try a different Mini USB cable. Perhaps your's has become defective or a pin bent. This issue typically arrives due to poor connection status.

2. Unplug and reseat your usb cable that you currently have this even worked for me. I unplugged my current usb cable exited any relative software, then pluged my unit back in reseating it more firmly and then reopened said update firmware tool. The process then quickly updated my max 2 properly.

3. Perhaps try another usb port. Sometimes certain ports either go bad on a computer, or they can even not work great with certain usb cable connectors I am also finding.

Hope this helps your situation.

FWIW, I was having the same original issue Mags was, and swapping the USB port fixed it for me. Thanks Abbie.
