Default hopeing this is the right spot to post this.

hi everyone, a question about the new fangled detectors. i won't go into all i have been through, but i now own a IXc, and the detectors are starting to make me talk to myself.
the IXc had both blue tooth and wifi. i have been talking to Larry the tech, and a senior member on the forum. the member told me the way to see if the detector is connected to the wifi is, if i have a white box in place of the posted speed limit, and have two dashes in it. i have that, and if i go into the detector from the live app, it says my wifi name in the car, and has a check mark next to it.
today i had to put a few miles on the car, i had the phone app opened, and the detector said it was connected. all of a sudden, the phone app showed a posted speed limit on a side street, of 25mph. it was posted for about 1 block, but the detector didn't show anything, just a white box with two dashes in it. so how can i tell, if the detector is really connected to the wifi.
is there a way to set the detector to check for updates, and if there is, will it tell me that is is up to date. also just what does the bluetooth do on the detector. my phone, a samsung note 9, is connected to my car radio by blue tooth, so why not the detector. and if the detector is connected to the wifi in the car, does the detector have a name or number, so we can look for the name, and do a wifi connection to the car
thanks

To display the SSID of the network that the iXc is connected to, hold the BRT button down for a few seconds. To exit this mode, hold BRT again for a few seconds.

Does "BRT" also work for the 360c to show the SSID?

i will be honest with you, i give up. i am tired of trying to get my detector to work right. i don't want to become a pest, and i don't want people on the forum to say, OMG he wrote again. my IXc shows it is connected to my car wifi. Larry the tech has really been nice trying to help me, but i am either really dumb, or it just won't work with my car. so i will just hang around, and read other posts. thanks everyone
