Hopefully somebody still lurks here with the same issue. I bought this back in 2014 and then had to send it in for warranty repair. At the time, it stopped alerting me of radar signals. It would power on just fine but that was it. I then sent it in and on the customer repair information report it stated, "Receiver software corrupted. Re-installed receiver software using the "update all" button under the "advanced" tab of escort detector tools.
I got it back and it was working again until a couple months later when the issue reappeared. I tossed it aside due to the recurring issue and also had moved so it was misplaced. Just found it and wanted to give it another shot. Today I tried to use detector tools to do what the technician had done but when I plug in the smart radar, I get "unable to obtain device version". Then when I try to click "update all", I get "error updating your smartradar". If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks |

Uninstall Detector Tools, then download and install that latest version of Detector Tools from EscortRadar.com and try updating your SmartRadar again. If the problem persists, then please call our customer service department at the number in my signature below.

bump this thread. I've Calle das described above and been told SmartRadar is no longer supported. I had a perfectly good functioning unit before an email telling me to update. CSR insists it plainly says 360Max. It pictures and describes such, but also in the section below that adds other detectors with a usb. So far unsuccessful at restoring my SmartRadar. any ideas? I've bricked a perfectly good detector it appears.

I am sorry to hear this happened to your SmartRadar. Updating SmartRadar is not required and there has not been any updates released for SmartRadar recently.
Please check your private messages Going forward, if Detector Tools says that your device is up to date then I suggest to not force it to update.

I'm still using several of these units across my various cars. I just updated to a replacement iPhone 7, and I can connect via Bluetooth to all of my SmartRadar devices except for one, which is the only original one I purchased brand new (rather than on Ebay). The SmartRadar works fine with the external display and with a SmartCord, but it doesn't seem to engage in Bluetooth discovery mode.
Also, is there a link to the latest DetectorTools software for this radar detector? The one I have installed (used to work) is giving a bunch of error messages (never used to) when I open the application. - when starting up: "Error checking for updates" - then when running: a bunch of Script Errors - when connecting the SmartRadar: "Unable to verify interface settings" - when trying to update: "Unable to obtain available update information" - version: 1.11.100 @EscortRadar, is there a way to force bluetooth discovery mode?
