A couple of weeks ago, I was traveling and got rear-ended BAD. My Max 2 ended up in the floorboard. Luckily it still works great. It has a small scratch on the front corner, but other than that, it looks and works fine. Thankfully! I leave mine mounted all the time too (rearview mirror mount), however, I was in a rental car during this accident so I was using the windshield mount that it came with.

I know this is no comfort to you now but it is possible to have a great experience with Escorts CS. I've had several. As a matter of fact, I've never had a bad one.

Only once did I have to return a detector to be repaired and that's because I dropped it after taking it out of the car. In the 30+ years I've run Escort detectors, they've stayed on my windshield and I've never had any of them fail. So when I see threads where people say they take their detectors with them when they park at work or home, I cringe because I remember the one time I didn't want to leave the detector in the car. I took it down and then fumbled it on the way into my house. And of course, it wouldn't power up after that.

So now my detectors stay on the WS where they belong.

Hope you get yours back soon. And I hope they give it the Midas touch so that you're glad you sent the sucker in.

If I do receive it today that's 20 days turn around. I remember just a couple years ago they would get the RD back to you within the week so you didn't go unprotected.

Let us know if it came.

FWIW - I think it's about how busy they are. If you read some of the posts, people sometimes get their detector back quickly. Other times, it's like what you're going through.

I know that's not much help but I hope you're happy with the unit when it does come back.

Got it today. Return slip says they replaced the bluetooth module, repaired the antenna, and tested it with an android device.

They also updated it to the new mag mount and a new power cord that has the extra USB outlet on it, but that's not on the slip.

I didn't know there was anything wrong with the BT or the antenna.

Well, maybe that's why it took so long to get it back. It's great that they bothered to check the detector since you returned it just for work on the case.

And nice they upgraded you to the magnetic mount and gave you the new power cord.

Let us know how it's working when you have a chance.

I called back and was told by this rep that he wasn't sure why the other rep would have told me that. I decided it wasn't important enough for me to go through the hastle of sending it back.

Now I'm hearing the same "not sure why the rep told you that" that I heard before.

It might be a good thing if those working customer service learn how to say "I don't know, let me find out".

If you think about it the guy probably told you correctly about the 85 numbered units. Problem is down in shipping if the guy has not been rotating product like he should there could be some 79 numbered units on the back shelf. Then on a busy day several weeks later the shelf sells out and bingo several older units with a 79 number get sent out. Is that anyones fault really? I don't know they are all still brand new units under full waranty.
