Default Strange IVT Leak

My MAX-II is still just 2 weeks old. I have had a few IVT leaks but the strange thing is that in two cases, the leak went from K band to Ka as I was passing the culprit vehicle. In both cases, I couldn't see any LEO around - LEO might have been around but far away for Ka to happen, I don't know. However, the sudden cut off from K to Ka makes that unlikely. And in both cases, Ka stopped just after I passed the culprit vehicle. I have since unsuccessfully attempted to recreate the scenario. I have purposefully driven behind,by and in front of late model Hondas and Kias and the MAX-II has been quiet. I haven't had an Acura yet. Has anyone experienced what I am describing?

You might call them what they are, a BSM or CAS punch through. There is nothing leaking from your IVT lol.

OK, punch through it is - I'm not too much into the RD tech. So, do you have any comments/suggestions other than the punch through thing?

No detector made today is able to filter BSM and CAS systems 100%. Escort now arguably has one of the best filtering systems out there on K band. This is in the all digital 360 and max units. The same IVT filtering on the Redline EX and IX detectors is not as effective because they are not all digital. That said you will still catch a false from time to time when some of the worst offending new cars are around you. As far as the signal switching from K to KA, in another thread Escort said they are looking into this. It seems that a very close and strong K signal is overpowering the detector and it starts showing KA. This occurred after the most recent update. I imagine they will come up with a fix for this and drop it in the next update.

Darkmann,
You should not be seeing this happen. If you continue to notice it then please contact our customer service department at the number in my signature below. What Butcher318 is referring to is only applicable to MAX 360c.

Thanks. I'll keep a lookout. Like I mentioned in my original post, I have really tried hard to duplicate and not a thing. The unit has stayed quiet at very close distances to IVT threat. I have yet to encounter an Acura.
