Default Dodge Charger Daytona Installation

I have had the ZR4 for 2 weeks trying to decide where to install it. The only place I can install the front shifters without modifying the front honeycone grill is in the 2 outside air slots between the bumper and lower spoiler (3 air slots under the tag). Will this work or cause a problem. I also read the front shifters must be level with the road surface. This is somewhat confusing because road surfaces change on inclines and hills. Does this mean set them both with a level or measure the ground surface and make the shifts equal the reading on the ground surface?

Lower grill will decrease performance, in the upper grill 1/2 way from the plate to each light is better.
On a flat surface make sure its pretty level. It assists with laser jamming consistency.

Maybe a close up of the grill will help. Looks like you can mount the heads on that plastic cross member.

Default Front grill mount

This may show a closer view. The holes are not large enough for the mounting brackets to fit through.

You should be able to ditch the mounting brackets and mount the heads right on that plastic part under the top lip (how deep are they?), just make sure its level and stick out a bit.

Default Will Not Work

It is about 2 inches deep. I do not want to cut the plastic or the honeycone grill and that's the only way they can be mounted. I may send the unit back.

Thats incorrect, they are many ways to mount them.

2 inches deep is perfect, they are less than 2" deep. No cutting.

I finally installed the ZR4 today. However, not all is as it should be. Atleast display wise. I did not use the display unit. Right now the 8500 is conected to the controller. When the shifter powers up the display on the 8500 says ZR3 not ZR4. I doubt that will change when I get my 9500xi back from Escort service. Is this normal? The unit was new and sealed in the box when I got it. The display unit says ZR4 and also the box. It took all day to install it because I did a custom job. I would hate to have to remove it.

I guess I will get my answer tomorrow since my 9500xi returns to me. Hopefully it will display ZR4 instead of ZR3 like this 8500 does.

Strange. I've never heard a ZR4 customer complain about this. I doubt it will effect the performance of your jammer system though. Mind posting pics of the install?

The 9500xi replacement arrived today. I think the difference between the ZR3 and ZR4 must only be the Heads. The controller must be the same. The 8500 shows the shifter as ZR3. The 9500xi only displays Shifter with no designator of either ZR3 or ZR4.

I tried to post the pictures here but couldn't. Hopefully this link will work.
