Default No Detection of Radars?

Hi! I've had a Max Ci 360 installed on my Jeep GC Trackhawk for 3 months and I've had nothing but issues.

I get K band alerts non-stop .. every minute or two its chirping like crazy and there's no police around.

And, if false positives were to happen a lot, I could probably live with it, but the biggest complaint I have is that so far I've driven past multiple police officers who are aiming a gun at me (no other cars around) and nothing goes off at all. So, it feels like I'm picking up everything BUT the police.

So, I called the customer service dept and they told me I must be wrong and the police officer is clearly not pulling the trigger because otherwise it would have gone off, and officers often just lean over their doors to NOT pull the trigger (ugh ...). So that was useless.

They did walk me through "properly configuring it" by disabling KA and multiple channels to reduce the false positives.

But, still not getting hits from the police.

Any advice? Maybe an article to tune things through the Android app so I can properly ensure that things are on that should be, and off that shouldn't?

Thank you!!

1. To get best experience with using your unit and K band issues I highly recommend that you run in Auto Mode. To do this please follow the instructions below.

Press Sensitivity (SEN) unit you see auto.
The SEN button selects the ESCORT MAX Ci 360’s
radar sensitivity. The choices are:
Highway – Full sensitivity
Auto – Reduces X and K band sensitivity based on
the speed of the vehicle
AutoNoX – Same as Auto but without X band
detection
AutoLoK – Same as Auto but with lowered K band
sensitivity at all times

2. Make sure TSR is set to on. This will filter out additional unwanted K band noise.

To do this you need to enter preferences and scroll through until you get to "bands" and enter into that menu. I will post instructions for you below that will hopefully help.

How To Use Preferences
To access the Preferences menu, press and hold both the SEN and MUTE buttons. ESCORT MAX Ci 360 will
display “Preferences,” indicating that it is in program mode.
Once in Preferences mode, the SEN button is used to review the preference categories, and the Up and Down
buttons are used to change the individual settings within the selected category.

Press MUTE to go from one category to the next
Press Up or Down to change your setting within a category

X Band On* / Off-> Not sure where you live but unless you are in Ohio or PA, turn X off.
K Band On* / Off-> Make sure this is set to On position
Ka Band On* / Off--> Make sure this is set to On Position
Ka-POP On / Off*--> Make sure this is set to OFF position you do not need Pop on.
Laser On* / Off-- Laser or Shifting should be set to on and shifting position.

TSR On* / Off Automatically rejects traffic flow sensor false alarms

Please make sure TSR is on.

3. When you say the officer is aiming right at you with something that is going to most likely be Laser. Do you have the Shifter Max Laser Shifters that came with your Maxci360 properly installed. I would like to see a picture of your install if possible so I can make sure that your sensors are installed properly and not obstructed in any way. In addition to this you must make sure again that in your settings that your unit is set to laser on shifting.

Excellent advice Esc0rtFan. Thank you!

zonearc,
Your authorized Escort installer should be your point of contact for issues related to the MAX Ci system. The installation has a huge impact on the system's operation and performance which the phone reps cannot assess. Please contact your installer for further assistance.

Thank you

Auto - Already Enabled
TSR - Already Enabled

Xband was enabled. I live in Oregon. Disabling.
Laser - Set to Receive Only. I switched it.
POP - was enabled. Switched it.
Ka-Band- was disabled. Enabled.

I have the Shifters installed. They were installed by a stereo installation shop called Stereo King. They said it was their first one so I'm not sure they are the right shop to go to which is why I'm trying to solve this directly. They are also over an hour from my home which makes this a massive pain to being back to them.

Thanks for the help!

Although I havent done much other than sit in the driveway, I live on a rural property in the middle of nowhere and its chirping K band in my driveway. What could be setting it off?

Could be the Blind SPot Monitoring on your car. You may need your installer to move the radar head if they installed in too close to a sensor and see if you have better luck.

Also DO NOT turn KA band off. YOu need KA band on at all times.

Settings your laser to shifting mode should solve your problem. That is why you didn't get an alert with the officer was pointing the laser gun and targeting you. Laser needs to be on, and set to shifting in order to be protected.

Make sure you turn KA band back on. Thats a big deal.

Never mind I see that you enabled KA from disabled. That was a major issue. I am glad you enabled it now and you should be getting alerts now.

One other insight ... Is it possible my vehicle sends our Ka band signaling?
In the driveway it pings ... it's doing it now at the vet's office too. 2 bars. Only when the vehicle is on and noticeably when the front of my car is facing a wall

It is detecting your car's collision avoidance systems. Please disregard what others are saying about Ka band. Disable Ka band and enable only KaN2, KaN5, and KaN8.

This should eliminate the Ka alerts coming from your vehicle and still detect police radar.

Ok I was assuming that it would only be K band coming from Collision Avoidance. DIdn't know they used KA band for that now too.

2,5,8 should work just fine for KA band though. Good deal.
