Default Issue with Direct Wire SmartCord

Hello All,

I have had my 9500ix since April and I have had it mounted with the suction cups and using the cord that came with it. Yesterday I installed a new mount and went with the direct wire smart cord for concealment. As soon as it powered up, the on button lights up green, but the alert button stays a constant red, even with no alert. I then unplugged the direct wire and plugged the original cord in and everything worked fine. I've read a couple posts and people are saying that the detector needs to be returned to be serviced, but is that still the case seeing that my original cord works fine. Would that mean that it is the direct wire cord that needs replacing? If thats the case I'm just gonna put electrical tape over it because it was a pain to run those wires.

I've tried contacting support but they are closed for the holidays. So i figured i would come here to hopefully get some input.

Thanks!
Happy Holidays!

Mine didn't require a return when I switched to direct wire. Possibly the direct wire wasn't installed properly?
