I don't know if this will fit in a hidden space, but it would be loud enough, connects to stereo output on the Max Ci and also runs on 12v power. Looks compact too.

Nope, escort just just released a speaker as they did for the ci. What are the many solutions ?

We offer an external speaker separately. MAX Ci also has a radio mute cable which will mute your stereo during an alert (if your stereo supports this feature).

If that is not enough, then you will have to get creative. The audio output is a standard stereo 1/8"(3.5mm) headphone jack. Your installer should be able to offer a solution.

Note that disabling AutoMute on the MAX Ci may help too.

What external speaker, the one I purchased is a mono jack and it is not even close as loud compared to the old ci. Is there a new version?

That is the only external speaker that we offer. As opposed to the old 9500ci, the stereo jack on the MAX Ci is the same as on any stereo equipment. There are many aftermarket options available to you.

I have the same issue on my Panamera install. The max volume alert, with auto mute disabled, is much too soft. Running at speed with the radio playing it is all too easy to miss K or Ka alerts.
Calls to Escort suggest that for some reason the company has modified the max alert volume from what was quite adequate on the 9500ci and of course on all their windshield mount units.
Suggestions from Escort to buy and/or install some sort of aftermarket solution? for a $3,500 unit?
Not great support.
