Default How to use the Motorcycle Adapter

Hi everyone,

I've got a Passport 8500 I'm trying to use on my motorcycle. I've got the mount and power taken care of, but trying to make sure I pick up the alerts.
Several options exist, but what is the "motorcyle adapter"? How does it connectx, and what exactly does it do? I can't find anything on it at all.

Thanks in advance,
L8Apex

I've never had occasion to use this adapter but will try to help. It has instruction with it and the general description is in the link. From what I can understand the adapter cord plugs into the jack of your 8500 and then at the other end the loop isolation (transformer?) can be connected to your motorcycle's sound system w/o the worry of signal voltages coming back and destroying the RD's audio output because the adapter electrically separates the radar detector and motorcycle circuits. Connection appears very simple and it seems to be a great idea!

Good Luck

Motorcyclists love our Ground Loop Isolator as it allows the radar detector earphone jack to feed warning signals through most motorcycle intercom systems (need a 1/8 inch jack). 9 foot long cord gives ample length for wiring your system. For radar detector models:
iQ, 9500ix, 9500i, 8500 X50, 8500, C65, RedLine, Solo S2, Solo S3
