Default 360C WiFi Requirements?

OK, so I'm about to give up on the 360C's WiFi connectivity. I had the regular 360 and "upgraded" to the 360C ONLY for its WiFi connectivity, but it hasn't worked with my new car at all.

Long story short:
* The 360C connects to my home's WiFi access points when my car is parked at home. This WiFi network is ABGN and has both 2.4 and 5Ghz availability.
* My 2019 Chevrolet Volt's 4G WiFi hotspot is confirmed to be 2.4GHz and everything that I have tried to connect to it works *except* for the 360C. The 360C reports that it has an IP address of 239.239.239.239 and the SSID is string of nonsense.
* I have tried 3 different WiFi Extenders in the hopes that *if* there is an incompatibility with the network the car is broadcasting, the extender's settings could be changed to something that the 360C will work with. My last attempt was to set up an open (no authentication) 2.4Ghz network that everything else connects to except for, again, the 360C.

To the Escort experts - what are the requirements for the 360C's WiFi connectivity? It obviously needs something funky that isn't compatible with the only thing I really want it to connect to - my car!

* 2.4Ghz?
* What channels?
* What authentication methods (WPA-PSK, etc.)?
* Anything Else?

I cannot return my 360C as it's past the return period for where I bought it. Everything else connects just fine to the car's hotspot, so the incompatibility is specific to the 360C (so far).

Escort- please help get this working!

Nope, and I've been describing this issue in the forums for about 6 months. I've also been in contact via private forum messages with tech support for about 6 months until the private message feature was disabled. The last messages via the private forum with tech support indicated that the issue *was* reproducible and that a solution should be released "soon" as of months ago.

I also called the main tech support team and submitted problem reports- the last of which was about 2 weeks ago with "Cierra Whitney" in customer support that ended with "I have passed this along to our developers to see what their thoughts are. I will follow up when I have more information."

At no point has anyone suggested that my specific unit was defective. All discussions with support were from their point of view that my car's hotspot was not compatible and I would have to live with it.... a $650 "upgrade" from my Max 360 (non-c) that doesn't work with my car for no apparent reason.

BTW, mine is not the only report of a similar issue. While not widespread, there are many cars on the road now whose hotspots seem to be incompatible with the 360c's WiFi- check this very forum for other reports. We can't all have defective units that require replacement unless a hardware defect was found in the earlier models and a new revision of the Max 360c fixes this issue with updated WiFi hardware.

I'm fairly certain that my 360c is not defective per its design, but rather that its design is flawed and my car (and many others) illustrate this flaw.

Have you attempted:
1. Restore 360c to factory defaults.
2. reset your chevy password to be only letters and numbers (no special characters) via either the mychevy app or the ownersite or onstar.
3. wait 10 minutes to the settings to be pushed to your car via onstar.
4. wait and verify the password changed by going in ur car stereo via the radio screen onstar 4g settings.
5. if you have control over it in your car hotspot leave the channel to auto
6. attempt to connect the 360c again.

Thanks for the reply, but the car only has 2.4Ghz as verified by several WiFi scanner utilities on other devices.

My home WiFi is broadcasting both a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz network with the same SSID and the 360c connects to that SSID without issue.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried all of the above over the past 6 months. There are no settings for channel in the car. Nothing has worked in getting the 360c to connect and get a valid IP address.

I'm having a similar issue.
360C connects to WiFi hotspot fine, but speed limit indicator repeatedly disappears and displays "--" or the background turns red.

I spoke with support this morning and they claim the 360C is only guaranteed to work with a in-car Hotspot, not a phone as a hot spot, which as a matter of engineering, makes no sense.

It could be due to you not having the correct credentials in the MAX 360c. Make sure you are logged into your premium Escort Live subscription (To confirm, in Escort Live go to Settings/Subscription. It should say "Thank you for your purchase of Escort Live Premium") then connect to your MAX 360c via Bluetooth. This will update the Escort Live credentials in the MAX 360c.

Also be sure your MAX 360c has a clear view of the sky for good GPS reception. You can confirm with the speed indicator. It should show 0 immediately when you stop.

If these do not solve the issue, let us know what hotspot/vehicle you have.
