Thumbs down Constant Radar Beeping

Hi,

I have been having this problem for awhile now. The beeping of my radar detector does not stop going off from the second I turn it on to the second I turn it off. This problem has escalated. At first, if I unplugged the device and then replugged it, the beeping would stop until I was close to a cop. However, now the beeping begins as soon as I turn the device on in my driveway. Unplugging it and replugging it does not help anymore. It has gotten to the point that I hardly even use my Passport IQ anymore because I can't get it to stop loudly beeping the entire time it's on. Please help!! It used to work great (this began in January, a year after first purchasing the device).

Any help with this problem would be appreciated!!
Thank you.

It sounds like your Passport iQ requires servicing. Please call us at the number below to set this up.

Thank you

I would agree, just to make sure though keep your smart phone away from the detector. Have you gotten a new vehicle that has the new radar based lane assist & collision avoidance features?

Hello,

This is a known bug since the last 2.8.2 firmware in 2012...
There is no solution, and there will be no new updates of the software.

SO, basically, all of us IQ users are left with a buggy, untrustworthy unit? That's great. I smell a class action if nothing is done.

Well then, What do YOU suggest??? It seems as if Escort has no plans on fixing THEIR screw up, leaving all of the IQ's a complete mess.

Have you sent EscortRadar (Larry) a PM, asking for help?

Many times. The unit has been for reprogramming, service, battery replacement and now it has a beta of a map update and it STILL has the same issue that arose after the last map update that all IQ owners are experiencing. In fact, Larry hasn't replied to my last message as it if/when a fix will occur.

I do not recall your last message. Please resend it.

To solve the issue you are having (which is common), either cycle the power of the iQ or tap the switch to go into sleep mode then tap it again to wake it up. This should get the slow alert beep to stop.

The continued slow beep after a random alert is not what the original poster stated though. He says it beeps all the time even when it has just been turned on. His iQ needs serviced.
