Default iPhone goes to sleep while Escore Live is on

I just got a Max360c a few days ago and have been playing around with it. So far it's a huge improvement over my old 9500ix that I had for 10 years.

One problem I'm having with the Escort Live app, however, is that it isn't stopping my iPhone from going to sleep after 1 minute. I've got my iPhone set to sleep after 1 minute, but apps can override that (such as all navigation apps). It doesn't seem Escort Live is doing it. Very annoying because I obviously cannot drive with the app up and running.

In case anyone at Escort is listening, here's the one line of code you need to add to the app to prevent the iPhone from sleeping while Escort Live is running:

[UIApplication sharedApplication].idleTimerDisabled = YES;

Never mind the line of code your suggesting, just go to settings on EL and enable "Disable Auto-Lock". This will override your 1 minute iPhone setting.

Curious why you say you canít drive with the app up and running, I thought that is what the app is for?

The phone should not be locking while Escort Live is actively running. Just to caution you if you disable auto lock on iphone your battery will run down very quickly.

Maybe I need some clarification on the Auto Lock option. Does that switch simply prevent the iPhone from sleeping - meaning it calls that line of code, or is it doing something else like while the app is in the background or the phone is off? Obviously keeping the iPhone from sleeping with drain the battery if it isnít plugged in, but I get the feeling thereís more to it.

I can only speak from my own experience. If I turn off "disable auto-lock" on the EL app when it is active, my iPhone WILL auto-lock. You can test this yourself with toggling this setting. Of course I hope most people are plugging in and charging their iPhones while using GPS enable, power intensive apps.

With the switch turned on "green", as shown in my screen shot, my iPhone will no longer auto-lock. There are many iPhone apps that allow one to bypass the default iPhone settings, mine of which is set to do so at the 5 minute mark.

From Apple:

You can also search for more information if you are not familiar with the auto-lock feature of an iPhone. Basically
