Default Fresh Install: Replace S3

What does it mean when my brand new Max CI 360 says "Replace S3"? Was just installed yesterday and today now says above when it first powers up.

Sounds like replace sensor 3........Did you check all your connections to your box and if possible check the wires coming out of the sensors?

I would suggest that you go back to the installer and have them check their work.

Default Replace S3

Just had mine installed last week, and ditto! Replace S3! Certainly sounds suspicious as this is the second exact item right after install.

I have a newly installed CI 360 that I have been using since Sunday. I received the "replace S3" message yesterday. I powered down the unit and shut off the car. Upon reboot, the error message went away. I have driven about 120 miles since and the error has not returned as of yet. I will update this thread if it does.

Default Same thing - Replace Sensor Message after Frimware Upgrade

On my new install (which came with old firmware) last week, I did the firmware upgrade and the first time I drove it out of my garage, I got the same message to Replace Sensor S3. The message went away and all seems fine and it has not reappeared.

Questions:
How can I test my laser transievers to see if they are working? Is there something short of a full test with police that I can use? Is there some form of clear red plastic I can use to at least see if they transmit? It would be nice to be able to see that all 4 of them at least produce light!

Search for "Laser Jammer Tester", and you'll find several transmitters available for $30 to $40 apiece. To see if they're transmitting, wait until early evening and trigger them while recording them with a camcorder or even a decent digital camera in movie mode. The camera will see them blink.
