1) I also would like to see course/track up option for the map
2) Use location features option to when app is in use. It really chews on the battery, even fully closing the app.
3) More options for the notifications, I've turned it all off as it was so constant.

When LIVE is running in the background, allow it to come to foreground when there is an alert.

So there's something really cool that I saw with Cobra's iRadar app and my iPhone that I'd love to see implemented with Escort Live. I'm not exactly sure how they do it (since i'm not a programmer), but when you start your car and a bluetooth connection is made between the detector and your phone, your phone will automatically launch the iRadar app on your iPhone. This way you don't have to manually do anything, the connection is made to the cloud automatically, and it's one less step to do every time you get in your car.

I'd love to see this functionality added to Escort Live as well. One further suggestion, Cobra's app does NOT give you the ability to stop this from happening, so the app will launch every time whether you want it to or not. Even if you try stopping it, it still brings up a popup window asking you about the connection. Anyways, for Escort's implementation, I'd love to see an option to disable this autolaunch functionality if the user so desires.

I have my Android phone programmed to auto launch both the iRadar app and Waze each time it connects to the Bluetooth playback device in my vehicles. Similarly, the script closes both apps once the connection is broken.

The iRadar app does have the ability to auto-launch itself upon BT connection via a settings option. I believe that's what you are referring to.

Just bought a SmartRadar so I'll be switching from using the Cobra app to Escort Live. (Hope some of the bugs have been fixed since I last used it a year or so ago).

I have found in the past that having multiple Bluetooth devices launch at the same time typically causes problems. Later on in the drive you will often have to restart a device or re-synch BT.
The first thing you want synched is you phone to car link. You usually want to wait before you connect the RD because typically the car will link BT and then synch all the contacts and call history. That usually takes about 10 seconds or so after the BT connection is made. At that point you can connect to the RD.
I have my RD set to connect after 10 seconds but I usually manually hit the BT button in EL once I see the car has finished synching.

Escort needs to change the app so it will at least open without a data connection.

I live in an area that I lose data connection sometimes due to carrier restrictions (I can make calls but no data) and I can not open Live. I use Live for lock-outs and signal strength bars on phone because RedLine is set to spec mode. Without data in certain areas I cannot even open the app to link to detector.

Unless there is a way to open app without data that I do not know about....

These suggestions are based on an android user.

1: Fix the latest Android version 2.1.3 of EL to work properly. The latest Android version (2.1.3) doesn't work properly with the Redline detector and EL direct wire smart cord. It's plagued with "failed to initialize" errors and disconnects randomly without warning. One has to constantly mess with phone, smart cord power, and/or detector just to keep it working over any length of time or to just make sure it's still connected to the detector. This is dangerous while driving and inexcusable for a $600+ configuration that is eventually going to also ask for a subscription to be paid? I don't think I'd buy it for a dollar at this point. The old 2.1.0 and 2.1.1 versions seem to work but lack the new features of the updated version. It seems like it broke when version 2.1.2 was launched. At least this is the case for my configuration. (Samsung Galaxy S3 running android 4.4.2 - Redline - and direct wire escort live cord android version - The car's bluetooth is a 2014 Dodge charger UConnect system).

2: The ability for EL to run in the background. Also if it then could come to the foreground automatically if a threat is detected. Then go back to running in the background after a given set of time or it is dismissed/muted. I think most of us android users would just be happy if it could just run in the background like nearly every other android app. So, coming to the foreground automatically would be an added bonus if it could be done.

3: NIGHT MODE! The map has a white background and is quite disturbing/distracting at night. This the only mapping program I've ever seen that doesn't have a night mode where the colors invert or at least the background goes black or dark gray. Even with the phones screen dimmed completely, it's still quite annoying with a white background. I can't think of a single GPS unit that doesn't have a night mode.

4: Why not make an add on GPS module that would plug inline with the EL cord so that people wouldn't need to enable their phones GPS and go through the Escort Live rituals just so their lockouts work. If a future Escort Live cord is released, a gps chip could be incorporated into the cord or at least make it an option. It's a pain to go through the ritual of setting your GPS to high accuracy, launching EL, and making sure your phone is charging just so your lockouts work every single time you get in the car for crying out loud. Sure, I know that tasker and some other apps can be configured to auto launch EL, but using the phones GPS, launching EL, and plugging it in every time I get in the car gets old real fast especially when getting in and out of the car constantly. I would have been happy to spend a few extra bucks so I didn't have to jack with my phone every time.

Another option would be to allow for a user interface with the EL cord via USB and software so that they can pair it up with a stand alone bluetooth GPS such as the Garmin GLO or Dual bluetooth GPS unit and leave it up to the consumer. I had a Garmin Glo and it works perfectly, however there is no way to pair it up with the EL cord so I'm still stuck using my phone every time. If you had software that would work using the USB interface, users could connect Stand alone bluetooth GPS devices and possibly even modify their own GPX files (points of interest) and set their own alerts and remove invalid stoplight cameras in their area. Just a thought.

allow the ability to rename the EL BT device name to anything the user wants, instead of just "smartcord dw" that shows up on the phone.
Current RD as of Oct. 2015: Passport Max and EL DW for iPhone 6S in 5 cars mounted with Blendmount for RD and Kuda-ProClip iPhone 6S mount-dock setups in '13 Lamborghini LP550-2, 16' Porsche Macan S, '15 Audi S3, '15 Audi Q3, and '13 Mini Cooper JCW Hardtop
Backup RD: Valentine One with latest software and iPhone app...
