Default BSM Filtering - Opinions

I use my Escort iX set on factory default mode. I also use my 9500iX is set on factory default mode. As much as I love the Escort iX, the 9500iX is my daily companion. I have noticed that both detectors are equally annoying around Acuras, Buiks and Kias. My understanding is that the Escort iX filters these annoyances to a certain extent, at a minimum, better than the 9500iX. It does not seem to do it for me.

My question is this: What am I not setting on the Escort iX to experience its superior filtering vs the 9500iX?

Auto mode helps around town.
TSR on
I use cruise alert set at 35 mph that keeps it quiet in traffic

A lot of those vehicles you mentioned simply emit the same police frequency radar so not much you can do.

Darkmann,

Our latest IVT Filtering in the MAX 360 and 360c (and coming soon via software update to the MAX and MAX 2) is the best in the business. This level of filtering without compromising performance requires an all digital receiver which the ESCORT iX does not have. It is not 100% in the MAX's yet, but its the closest there is while also not compromising on detection performance. Don't take my word for it though, here's a video of it in action and you can try it for yourself using our 30 day money back guarantee.

I saw the video and it is very impressive. Now I am thinking of getting a 360c

Now that you have the K band filtering at a very high level on the 360 detectors what about the rest? Will there be updates to improve filtering on the IX and the Redline EX?

Both the IX and Redline EX are analog detectors, and although I'm sure that Escort will continue to work toward improving rejection from BSM systems, those detectors aren't digital. This makes it considerably more difficult to identify and filter-out those false signals.

My best guess is that those customers who have any of Escort's digital detectors will enjoy far less falsing to BSM-equipped vehicles that those who use analog detectors.

TBNTX is correct. IVT Filtering updates to the ESCORT iX and RedLine EX may happen but they will never be able to reject falses without incurring a performance penalty like the MAX series of detectors. This is because they are analog based detectors while MAX detectors are all digital.

The Passport MAX and MAX 2 will soon be receiving IVT Filter updates to put them on par with the filtering currently on MAX 360 and MAX 360c.

Default Escort needs to more clearly advertise the difference between analog and digital

Escort needs to more clearly advertise the difference between analog and digital Receivers regarding ability to filter out blind spot monitoring (bsm) systems. This is a HUGE overlook and would have been a huge deciding factor in the purchase of my 360c vs redline ex.
