Default Max360 show old firmware version after update

Downloaded latest update software version 2.3.3.28 on Win 10. Detector connects and shows serial number 79000975. Chose menu option "Update All Software". Lots of erasing and writing for a couple of minutes. Update successful message pops up. Menu option "About Your Device" shows Master Version 1.12, which I assume is the old version. Should be 1.6 per the forum. Disconnect detector from computer and depress MUTE and MRK simultaneously while powering up in car and version is still 1.12, not 1.6. ???

Thanks, Chuck

Default One more thing...

Detector update tool says firmware is up to date when I try to update it again even though neither the tool or the detector shows the latest version.

Did you power down and restart your detector? New firmware version won't load until you've powered cycled your detector.

You have to power-cycle the detector for the new firmware installation to be finalized.

Per Flylow7f39's post above, if you pressed M&M the first time you powered-up in your car after disconnecting it from the computer, the software would not have yet completely installed. You needed to power-up the RD first let the software complete its install, power down and only then press M&M.

You may be able to just power up now allow the install to complete, shut it down and then recheck with M&M. This should work, but if not just start over with your computer and this procedure to see if that solves the problem.

Yeah I powered it up in the car and used the app to change a few settings like color that were reset after the update, unplug it and then did M&M with power but version is still 1.12. I have a second MAX360 thatís at 1.11 and will try updating that one to 1.6.

Link to forum post about version 1.6?

I don't own a MAX 360 so I can't verify the firmware version on one.

Maybe I missed the thread about newer firmware but last month, on December 5th, 2019, was the latest was v1.12 firmware for MAX 360 detectors with serial numbers beginning with 79.

From December 5th, 2019:

-and-

MAX 360 v1.9 firmware has been released for units with serial numbers beginning with 85.

What’s new in MAX 360 firmware version 1.12/1.9:
- Adds MultaRadar CD detection. MultaRadar CD is a form of photo radar used in Canada. MultaRadar CD detection is off by default.
- Resolved excessive laser alerts.

To update MAX 360 firmware using Detector Tools Pro and Detector Tools for Apple Mac computers (a USB/USB Mini B cable is required):
- Go to the Update Your Device website on EscortRadar.com and download Detector Tools Pro
https://www.escortradar.com/pages/update-your-device
- Using a USB/USB Mini B cable, connect MAX 360 to computer. Do not plug in the power cord when updating software.
- After connecting MAX 360, the serial number will display in Detector Tools Pro.
- Click the bottom green button to update firmware.
- A prompt will display when the installation has finished.
- Your MAX 360 is now up to date with the latest firmware!

To enable MultaRadar CD detection:
Using the MAX 360 Menu:
Open the Menu by holding the BRT and SEN buttons
Repeatedly press BRT until you see Band Enables
Repeatedly press SEN until you see MultaRadar
Press + or – to turn on MultaRadar
To exit the Menu, press the power button or do not press any buttons for a couple seconds

Using the Escort Live app:
With MAX 360 in range and paired to your smartphone, open the Escort Live app
Enter the Escort Live menu
Select Settings
Select Radar Settings
Scroll down to Band Settings and toggle MultaRadar CD on
The change takes effect immediately
Same firmware versions listed in this post from December 12th, 2019:

Thinking perhaps you somehow confused the MAX 360 with the MAX Ci.

Only Escort detector I've found that is currently on firmware version 1.6 appears to be the MAX Ci.

Over in the MAX Ci updated to v1.6 thread.
From April 9th, 2019:
MAX Ci has been updated to v1.6 with the following changes:

How this works is when using a Shift4/6/8/10 setting, the shifters will shift for 4, 6, 8, or 10 seconds, then will go into receive-only mode for 30 seconds then return to Shift mode. This is the same as double tapping the mute button while shifting. When the shifters are in receive-only mode, while receiving laser shots the display will indicate “laser” instead of “shifting”.

To enable:
- Hold down the SEN and MUTE buttons to go into the detector’s preferences menu
- Repeatedly press the SEN button to cycle through the detector’s categories, stopping at Shifters
- Repeatedly press the MRK (up) or BRT (down) button to cycle through the category’s settings, which are: Receive/Shift/Shift4/Shift6/Shift8/Shift10/Off
- Simply stop on the setting that you want to use and wait a few seconds, or press the power button, to exit the settings menu

Note that installing this update keeps your current Shifters setting intact.
