Default 9500ix GPS ERROR? What should I do?

Howdy! I just picked up an Escort 9500ix from a friend and I love the study build and design however I've noticed that whenever I click GPS, the icon keeps flashing and then prints out the message GPS ERROR... I'm on the latest software as I downloaded the update to the detector so is this a hardware issue wherein I have to send the device to escort or is there a separate GPS update that I can use?

My Serial Number starts with 3302.

Thank you! Any help is appreciated!

This is not good.
You need to call Escort for service, or better yet trade it as is in on a MAX model before putting out dollars for service.

Hi Sganesh.

First thing that I would check is to make that the detector is positioned far enough forward that the GPS sensor has a full view of the sky, and that it's not being blocked by your car's roof.

Failing that, consider Poolmon's suggestions.

If you are still unable to acquire GPS lock after following the advice in http://escortradarforum.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=10648 give Escort Radar customer service a call at 1-800-543-1608, available from 9am-5:30pm Eastern Time Mon-Fri at or you can fill out a repair form and they will contact you.

Just a recommendation but if it were me I would use this opportunity to trade this older detector with out dated technology to a new detector. You will get better performance and less false alerts.
