I have a Redline EX Intl which has just been repaired because the gps failed. When driving the detector tells me of a fixed pole camera if it is on the lane closest to the camera but if you are on the other side of the road on the return journey it doesn't alert you. Is this just a basic setting?

If you are referring to the GPS alerts ("red light camera ahead") these cameras are only alerted to if you are traveling in the direction that they are monitoring traffic.

They are speed cameras that monitor traffic in two directions.

They same applies for speed cameras. They should alert only in the direction monitored. If you think they they are not alerting correctly report the exact location to the "Contact Us" link below to have them checked out.
