Display brightness, is anyone else concerned?

After only a few days use the one shortcoming of the RL 360c which constantly stands out is the limited brightness of the display. On the brightest setting, during daylight hours, the display is not bright enough. I hope Escort is going to address this issue.

Unfortunately, that's the way it is with the display type. They used the same display with the original Max.

The higher up you can mount it the easier it is to read. I find that the upper right of the rearview mirror works best in my vehicle.
But yes, as indicated above all model displays are the same brightness.The photo below is at maximum brightness with high-up mount.

I am surprised to hear this. My R360c is quite bright. During the daytime I can run with Medium or Maximum. I only use Maximum because I typically use sunglasses when I drive.

At night, Maximum is WAY too bright and causes a cabin window glare. Minimum or Medium is the standard for night time driving.

If Escort could add white as a display color, that would help. Hopefully that could be done by a software update.

The way that the brightness levels appear has a lot to do with the angle of the Windsheild and the design of the car. I never understood why anyone complained about it not being bright enough until recently I borrowed my fathers vehicle. It was a pickup with the windshield angle pretty much straight up and down.

I could still see the display fine when set to bright but simply noticed a bit of washout on there as opposed to my other cars.

I think white would be a good color to add as an option and I agree that this is a good suggestion.

I didn't find the red display comforting. I changed to the blue display and like it much better - maybe it's because I have a few iXc which are blue. Try the blue (or other available colors) to gage visual comfort.

White might be a good idea. Someone else mentioned this issue in a video on the RL 360c. BTW, my RL 360c is mounted to the RVM but I'd imagine the slope of a windshield would affect it in bright sunlight. I was just used to the very clear to see display on the original Redline, I'll probably get used to it.

I agree about red not being comforting. I have mine on red just to "match" the rest of the car's instrumentation. (I cannot change my car to another color). When I had a Chrysler 300 the cabin was blue and it was soothing. The Charger though has to be the aggressive bad boy and it is all red. I truly liked the blue better.

Agreed with all on White being a great choice!
