Default Redline 360c Speedometer Not Working

I was traveling down highway yesterday afternoon, and the speedometer on the Redline 360 was going haywire. At 75 mph, it was blanking out and then would pick up at 80-90+ mph. I tried powering it off and on and restarting the vehicle to fix. Has anyone else had similar issue?

Sounds like a GPS issue - possibly poor sat reception?

My observation is that the weakness in my RL360c, is the GPS. Well after other GPS receivers in the car are synchronized the RL360c has not. The GPS also loses lock occasionally for a time. The GPS does have a clear view to the sky due to the windshield slope. Unless the GPS dies I will not part with the unit for an undetermined period of time.

Same here. I'll be on the highway going 70 and sometimes the detector gives me an over speed alert because it thinks I'm on the service road.

Does the unit rattle when you shake it? There were some units that shipped early on with lose component(s), possibly the GPS chip/antenna.

Nothing should be rattling inside. I recommend that you get an RMA have it checked.

See the number in my signature, and call as soon after 9 AM Eastern tim. Early is a MUST.

Default Gps

I have had a good experience with the GPS on the R360c. It is sensitive, but quick. I notice as soon as I back out of the garage, the GPS connects and speedometer on the Redline works immediately. If I go under even a small overpass, the momentary cover does completely block the GPS signal and the unit immediately reports GPS Signal Lost, and almost immediately upon being in the clear again I get GPS Signal Acquired message.

If yours is not working like this or rattles, I agree, have Escort take care of it!

The quick GPS warning is interesting on the R360c.
On the MAX units there is a built-in delay (up to 15 seconds) to reduce the amount of GPS lost/acquired warnings.
Maybe it is the new software defined radio platform or possibly a change to the software delay?
