So you advertised it as being updateable with no intention of ever updating it? This unit NEVER has had an update since it was released.

Wow, I can't believe the Escort moderator is actually admitting that it is updatable but they never intended to update it. This is truly false advertising because the courts will go with intent. If they are selling a product that and advertising it as updatable with the intent of never updating, that is considered false advertising.

I also purchased this unit because I saw no need for the direction arrows for an extra $150. Money was not really the object. I would never have purchased this unit if I had known the IVT filter was obsolete the day it came off the assembly line. What idiot would have unless that was not a determining fact for purchasing it? This unit is effectively useless since I have had to turn the k band off.

This is easy money for a class action attorney. I agree to give me a credit and I will upgrade to the MAX 360.

Not true. We have released an update for the iX and may release more updates for it. Whether its IVT Filter can be improved to counter the latest IVT that is being used today is what is questionable. We hope to be able to, but the hardware may not allow it.

I agree. I would go with the 360c due to it matching the inside of my car but I would also want my 3 year warranty and Defender Database transferred too. Plus something tells me the 360 will be on its way out soon.

When I purchased my iX last summer, that was really the selection point for that model--the literature, including the side by side comparison charts, shows the detectors being essentially the same aside from the directional indicator arrows and I really didn't care about the arrows. Both clearly read they would have IVT updates, as did the sticky posted in this very forum when the iX was announced. There is still nothing to differentiate in the current literature, regarding the discussion in this forum with the difficulty in upgrading an analog versus a digital detector. While I can appreciate the technical challenges of trying to filter out all the stuff that is on the road today, it truly sounds like there is a different level of capability between the two detectors and one only comes to this conclusion after reading through the comments here in the forum. If I had not been doing some extra research for my girlfriend on a detector purchase for her vehicle and gone into the forums, I would still have been oblivious to this distinction. As for someone taking something to the courts, I think it would boil down to what a reasonable person would expect from the advertising and marketing put out by the company versus what would be determined to be the baseline facts. My two cents: a reasonable person would have expected to receive an update to the IVT filter...facts on the ground to this point show an update to the firmware but, apparently, not the actual IVT filter.

Another gripe...I wanted to post over a month ago but it actually took until now for my account to be activated to post on this forum. I was beginning to wonder if the company was going under...
