Red face Bluetooth not working with 1.6 firmware update

I have the escort Passport that does not seem to have its own model name. Well, no mater what I think I did the reset right, I can not get it to work.

I tried the software, and no dice, I know I did it right because the USB logo came on after doing it a few times to get the software to work.

If you guys have any advice, that would be great.

I tried to find it with 2 other phones, and still no dice.

I have had it for a little over a year now. Hmm.

I upgraded mine from v1.4 to v1.6 a while back and did not have any issues. I never had to re-pair the RD either. It was a 'seemless' update. Sounds like their could be an issue with your phone or the way you are trying to pair?

Was the BT connection fine before the update? You said you did a 'reset', what reset are you talking about as I never reset mine, no need to. Just plug into DT, update, and on your way!

I'm not sure about the Passport but I know they want you to pair the RD in Escort Live for some models, not your BT settings on your phone, if you have an iPhone...see here....

Unfortunately it sounds like it needs to be serviced iMickey503. To set this up please call us at the number in my signature below.

I have had the same thing happen to mine. Updated to the latest firmware and I am pretty sure the next day the bluetooth worked for my first trip, but ceased to work after that. I have had no bluetooth for several weeks now. I have tried checking the firmware and everything.

Seems odd if this is happening more than once. I would love to know if this is an actual problem (even if it is sporadic) before I pay for either a repair or a new unit.

Wait, having the power connected to the RD along with the USB power for programming is OK?

Somehow I can't see how getting power from two different sources is ok.

Also, your video shows nothing about connecting to BT.

I will quote Escort from 2014
Quote:
Passport v1.4 software is now available. To update your Passport with v1.4 software connect your Passport to a computer using a USB cable, run Detector Tools and select the "update software" option. Do not use a power cord with Passport when updating.
