Default Escort iX incompatible with Iphone XR?

Love my Escort iX. Saved me dozens of times. Had it linked with my old Iphone 5 and Escort Live without any issues.
Just upgraded to my new Iphone XR, which will not detect my escort BT. Detects all my other BT devices, but not my iX.
Had several back and forth emails with Escort customer service who suggested a variety of power on/off tests, forgetting other BT devices, linking using the Escort Live app etc. Nothing works. Now customer service seems to have given up on me with no further advice.
Also checked for updates with Detector Tool Pro, which indicated my iX is up to date.
So I'm at a loss on what to try next. Can the SmartCord cause these problems? Anyone else experience this?

If you are using a SmartCord Live cord, then that will cause issues.

You should use a normal SmartCord or SmartCord USB with your iX.

Beginning with iOS 13, Apple introduced the ability to allow/disallow apps to have access to bluetooth. Make sure that you have enabled Escort Live to access bluetooth.
To check and change this:
- Go to iPhone's settings
- Scroll down and select Escort Live
- Make sure the following settings are selected:
-- Location = Always (note that it will not always use Location Services, it will shut down Location Services after not being used)
-- Bluetooth = On (green)
-- Background App Refresh = On (green)
-- Cellular Data = On (green)

To pair iX to your iPhone:
- Make sure you have the latest Escort Live app installed
- Power on your Escort iX
- Go to Escort Live's settings menu
- Select Devices
- iX should be shown under Other Devices
- Select iX and accept the prompt to pair
- iX should move up to the My Devices list
- Press the settings button and Home to return to the main screen. The bluetooth icon in the top right of screen should be blue and should display "Escort iX" when pressed

Your step by step instructions did the trick. Checked the latest app upgrade, then followed instruction on finding the iX within the app settings. And there it was. Paired up and I'm ready to go.
Thanks for the help.
