I spoke to support and had already done (multiple times) most everything they suggested. They did say there are some known issues with updating via wifi to the new software and they recommended doing it again directly through the computer. If that does not work then simply order a new one and they'll make a note that will extend my return time on the original unit.

The problem with computer is I've been unable to get any of my 3 computers, 1 PC and 2 Macs to recognize the detector. I also tried 3 different USB cords and made sure the Tools software was most recent, I had drivers etc. No luck. My other brand detector connects immediately so I highly doubt it's the cords but I ordered the one off the Escort site as a last ditch effort. I did try turning off the detector completely in the car and then connecting in my house and nothing happens. If I leave it on and connect to computer it fires up and immediately says low voltage and turns off and the computer doesn't recognize it. I also tried leaving it powered on in the vehicle and connecting to the computers and no luck. If you have any ideas definitely let me know!

Don't try hooking in the detector to you PC while it is powered up. It isn't designed to do that and it could screw something up , not sure.

When you plug it into your PC inside it should be recognized my Detector Tools. Make sure you are using the correct version of detector tools. You should also so a USB icon on the display of your detector while you have it plugged into your PC.
