Default Too many false alerts

Just bought and configured my Red Line as per the video (great video). Drove from Chicago to Louisville 300 highway miles all highway and 80% cornfields no shoping centers etc.

The alerts were going off almost 40% of the time when my wife asked how I could tell it was a real threat or a false alarm. Good question. I threw it in my glove compartment as that many false alarms are nuts.

Can anyone tell me how to limit those false alarms?

Auto Mode and TSR on are your tools to limit falses. If you don't need X band, which you don't in that area, you can shut that off for reduced false alerts as well.

Beyond that, well you might have to look into a more modern detector with better filtering capabilities if you need it to be quieter.

RedLine does not have any advanced anti-falsing features like our newer detectors have, such as the ESCORT iX and the Max detectors.

V0rtex is right that TSR and Auto Mode on the Redline make a world of difference. I would not turn X Band off in Illinois; X band is still hanging in there in some Illinois communities. I have come across it in Illinois but only on the highway. I see that the RDF Geographical Survey lists a few places as still using X band.
