Default MAX 360 False Laser Alerts

New MAX 360 gets repeated laser alerts indicated at all 4 directions. Turned off all other devices (smart phones etc.) still get alerts even on overcast days.
Is this common?

Whenever a laser threat is detected, all four arrows light up. It's normal.

The question, though, is what is the source of the laser alerts.

Say more, please.

It is not common. If it is mounted near a backlit screen then try moving it away from it and see if the alerts continue.

Do you know if you vehicle has any laser based collision avoidance systems? If you notice alerts only when you get close to other vehicles, walls, etc, then this is probably the case.

Rain sensing wipers have also been known to cause laser alerts. Mounting the detector in a different area of you windshield, or on your dash, will help if this is the case.

I get them fairly frequently, more since the 1.6 firmware update for some odd reason, from LEO lights or DOT yellow lights especially at night. Something about the strobes/LED's/or whatever they are using these days seems to make the 360 think laser is being used.

Just passing this along for the Escort guys in case there is something you can do.

I think the darn new lights LEO's and DOT uses are do dang bright anyway, unsafe really.

BTW my 360 is mounted under the rear view mirror.

You will never get "lasered" from the side, it's always a direct front shot or from the rear. Like TBNX said, the 360 will light all arrows during a laser alert.

Look through the forum, there are many things that can cause a false laser. Led taillights, dash screens, cell phone screens, cell phone eye search features, laser controlled cruise control, airports, toll booths, and so on.

Laser alerts from emergency vehicle lights are normal.

When you said repeated I thought that you meant all the time, as in it never stops.

I absolutely love my Max360 but I can confirm some understandable false ďlaserĒ alerts.

I live in an area known for fog - the school buses here almost always have a white strobe on (similar to an aircraft strobe). If Iím within ~200 feet of a bus with strobe on, I get a laser alert. Mind you, this has ONLY happened on residential streets and NOT where law enforcement is normally running laser. This has happened to me twice at stoplights, behind a bus (with strobe on), and very little likelihood of actual laser inforcement in the area.

That being said - Iíd much rather my 360 (very rarely) give me a false in town. On the highway, Iíve taken every LASER alert seriously and the 360 has been incredibly accurate.

Down here in the south (along I-20), they run the license plate scanners (these are mounted on the front grill of the LEO vehicles). They set off laser every time.

I think they capture an image and speed but arenít doing ticketed ó just building a database of cars passing with license plates so they can tell who drives where and when and how fast.

My 360C was driving me nuts with false laser alerts. Seemed to be occuring when driving directly into the sun or when the sun was off at about a 45-degree angle from the driving direction. On overcast days or at night, I get no false alerts.
I'm driving a 2018 BMW M550i and using an iPhone X which has facial recognition. My phone is generally always in the wireless charging spot just in front of the gear selection lever. The car has lane avoidance, auto cruise, automatic crash-avoidance braking etc.
I've ended up turning the laser sensor off to avoid all the fake alerts. I'm hoping somebody (who perhaps has the same or similar car) can make a suggestion regarding a possible solution.
Otherwise, love the detector.

Just get basic model of Chevy Cruze, and all of your problems with 360c will stop.
