Bumping this thread, got rid of my original Max, waiting for Redline with GPS. With the recent sale price of redline, do you guys see it coming out pretty soon? Any speculation?

My best uninformed guess is no. But only the higher ups at Escort know about future planned products. They can't say even if they wanted to due to NDAs (NonDisclosure Agreements). Seems they prefer not to lose their job.

My opinion only, I doubt that there will be any such hybrid anytime soon, if ever.

If you've read thru the posts in this thread, such a hybrid Redline would probably be a huge beast, and it would be expensive.

I understand and appreciate that people want the best of the best, and to have everything in one detector. Me, too. But at some point, offering something like this just doesn't make sense. Let me explain why I think so.

I own several Victorinox Swiss Army knives, and each one is handy for different purposes. I keep a small one on my keychain for daily use. I also have their camper knife for camping and preparedness. I even have their Cybertool knife in my tech bag. All of them serve different needs, but imagine creating one all-purpose knife with everything in it.

Victorinox has done just that. They offer one pocket knife that has every possible tool imaginable in it, the SwissChamp XAVT. It is priced at $400 on their website, but I've found it available on eBay for about $300.

To me, the XAVT is pretty cool, but it's impractical to carry one. It's too large to fit on one's pocket, it's heavy and it's unwieldy to use. To me, this is something that is more along the line of a collector's item.

Having presented the XAVT as as an example, I think that a Redline with GPS and arrows (which would require front and rear horns) would make its design huge, very heavy and terribly expensive, just like the SwissChamp XAVT. This said, technology continues to advance, and components become more capable and smaller with each iteration. Perhaps, over time, a Redline with GPS and arrows might become possible, but I sincerely doubt that anything like it would become available anytime soon.

Again, this is just my opinion.

But you know this radar detector does exist, Radenso Pro SE. It is way smaller than Redline and Max. But 2 issues that stops me from buying it:

1) It is pretty ugly IMO
2) No automatic GPS lockouts

No it really does not exist. The Radenso has no GPS, no arrows, and the current Redline beats it in most every published test i have seen.
Add dual antennas and all the GPS hardware to the Radenso and then see how large its size grows too. The price would go way up as well.
At this time there is no detector made that has auto GPS, arrows, and balls to the wall Redline range.

Radenso has GPS built in. I really don't care that much about arrows.

What I see possibly (wish list) coming is a M3 platform with GPS, BT, digital. As Escort did with the new (9500) iX release, this is what I see. Adding arrows makes it too large, no question. IF Escort can design such a beast and keep (as much as possible) the sexy looks of the current Redline/Magnum I for one will buy it! I don't need or want arrows, I want stealth and that crazy long range!

I think a GPS-capable Redline would be great, OP_Pop and Krazy-K, but that wasn't the question posted by the OP. The OP was asking if there would ever be a Redline with Arrows, not whether there might be a Redline with GPS some day.

I would be super satisfied with a Redline with GPS.
