Take New Jersey for example. The IIHS link states speed cameras are prohibited by law, and that there are no speed or red light cameras in use. However, looking at Escort Live right now there are about a dozen speed and red light cameras reported, many well over a week old.

I encounter this frequently, where I get alerts for red light or speed cameras in states that do not use them. I'm assuming these are due to erroneous user reports, but it begs the question why it is even possible to report them in these states to begin with?

This is still an issue. I am still getting false red light and speed cam reports in Escort Live everyday in states where RLC/speed cams are illegal. Can this not be fixed?

Thanks for the suggestion but we do not intend to add a feature to not allow users to report cameras in areas where they are not used. Seeing it happen firsthand, camera laws change quickly and can go back and forth often.

If you do not want to receive these alerts, in Alert Settings you can disable each type of camera alert.

That is unacceptable for a "premium" product. Users should not have to choose between being inundated with false alerts and not receiving any alerts.

I regularly drive through several states, some of which use speed and RLCs and many that do not. Laws do not change that quickly.
