Default Can I save my current location as a Favorite?

I am wondering if it's at all possible to save my current location as a Favorite. I often travel to destinations in rural areas where a specific street address does not come up in the data base.

If this feature is not available now, will it be included in future updates?

You can save your current location as part of a route. Press "routes" on menu screen. Select "manage routes" then select "create a new route". You can then select "use current location" as the origin, or enter another location as the origin and then select your current location as the destination.

Default Saving Current Position

It would be most helpful if the saving procedure was streamlined with a single one step tap option in the menu screen as it is difficult to do now, especially while driving and even more so while using the Passport IQ on the handlebars of a Harley Motorcycle.

This will be addressed in an upcoming software (firmware) update.

I would like to concur, unit needs (save current location as favorite.)

I need this feature every week as I fly into local airports and pick up a rental car.

The iQ's new software has "save current location" feature and will be available to download for free from Detector Tools soon. An announcement will be posted on the forum and you should receive an email when this software is available to download and install.

Default Saving current location

I agree with the other users. This feature is much needed for travelers! My 5 year old GPS had it. Please add me to this list that would like to be notified when this is available. This is one of the most "missed" features of my old GPS. I also miss the trip statistics I used to get...average speed, top speed, trip time (total, not to destination).

This software was released. Please use Detector Tools to update your iQ's software.

Default Still Need Map location as Destination

This device still REALLY needs to be able to accept a current map location, not the current GPS location, as an origin or destination for a route.

Currently you can use the GPS or car location but you can't simply browse the map and pick a location. Since the search features are still somewhat rudimentary on this unit and frequently don't even find things I know are in the system, and since there's no way to designate a location that's not an address or something already in the database, it's really limited on where a destination may be.

The IQ REALLY needs the ability to browse the map and then either enter the current map center (or clicked location) in as a Favorite location or the current destination. This is a very basic function of just about every other car navigation device on the market.
