That's great. Wish there was that level of customer service for those that bought the IQ, only to have it discontinued 6 months later and all support and updates stopped.

I agree, EVERYONE should complain to the BBB.
Tell me how good your IQ is working, and how great of service you have got on that device. Oh I see you don't say anything about owning the over priced piece of junk that is no longer supported , so your opinion on Escort and their products is of no importance on this subject.

Just to say in my own case :
  • Almost 4 years of daily use, Passport iQ is still a great product in 2015 here (in Europe with K-Band detection). Detecting distances are decent, and the various options like automute, multiple bands, GPS filtering, etc... are sufficient.
  • In terms of Escort Support (Thanks Larry !) I've had :
    - an iQ replaced free of charge.
    - a new iQ mount also sent free (the *new* version much thicker).
    - a firmware update and maps on micro SD card, always sent free.
in each case these shipments from USA to Europe...

    - Tons of PM exchanged with Larry.
    - Always received answers to all my topics of this forum.

So yes, I confirm the excellent support and reactivity

I don't think they're going to support the iQ at all. It's probably not worth it to them, and if they had map updates, they would probably cost more than most would be willing to pay.

I take it then that you are not upset that this device is no longer supported in firmware, and more than likely there will be no more map updates. I've never had any problems/complaints about the radar detector part of this device all my complaints are with the GPS, the lack of support and how out of dates the maps are when we are lucky enough to get new maps. I've had 2 new mounts and I don't see much difference, currently I have to put the IQ low enough on my windshield so it can rest on the dash, if I don't do that it is facing downward because the mount can't support the weight especially when it gets cold out. Escort will never get another dime of my money, you want to send them your hard earned money for crap more power to you.

I guess I was wrong about escort never getting another dime of my money since the radar detector part of my IQ stopped working. I had no idea until I got a ticket the other day and my IQ never made a sound. I even asked the officer how he got me and he said radar, I also asked radar or laser and he said radar. After that I drove by a known radar (sign that shows your speed) and again no sound or even a gray bar showing a known location from the IQ. Once it is repaired I will be selling this piece of crap and buying a Valentine, good bye forever to escort. I guess I could be just like escort and sell someone a known piece of junk that doesn't work as advertised.
