Never have any issues with the mount
If you clean it with hot water.

I have used a couple of the different suction cup mounts Escort offers. At least with my Escort Max the suction cup has to be super clean and also the windshield has to be clean and it seems to work fine. But if it's the least bit dirty it eventually falls off the windshield.

Out of all the Escort units I have had, this is the only one I have been disappointed in.

Thinking of taking the trade in offer and when they go on sale this Christmas, getting a Max 2. Just tired of all the damn issues.

Well, I ordered the Max 2. Good by IQ. It's going up on Ebay later this week.

Default Replacing factory mount with RAM part and Wood Powr Grip

The factory supplied mount for the passport IQ is substandard and doesnít handle the weight of the unit. To make matters worse the suction cup fails in any temperature that isnít moderate. During the cold weather the mount of my IQ came loose and fell off the windshield and landed face down on the gear selector which cracked the touch screen. I finally took matters into my own hands and modified the factory mount. I basically mounted the 1 inch ram ball to the existing backer plate that attaches to the IQ and discarded the suction cup arm part of the factory mount.

Parts list contained below:
RAM-B-309-3U Ram Mount Motorcycle Handle Base Extra 1 inch Ball
Woods Powr Grip Black Vacuum Pump Suction Cup Base with 1 inch RAM B-ball
RAM-B-201U Ram mount medium Arm B-Socket
