Default Auto JTK

When will you introduce auto JTK? Will it be a part of the new Escort Live App? Will it be a ZW5 specific update? Will it be a software update on the 360c?

I do not know exactly when it will be released. Implementing it will require firmware updates for the affected shifters and detectors.

Are you Escort guys serious? You know an average Joe with Escort ZR5s without autoJTK is driving through speed trap and jamming the shooter/officer all the way. He/she will not remember to double tap mute button in that very moment especially if its professionally installed by your Escort Cert Installers where they usually tuck controller behind LCD panel, under ashtray cover etc.

End result:
1. An Escort ZR5 user is getting pulled over and charged for obstruction of justice. Doesnt matter if this holds in court, there s still an unnecessary charge and inconvenience.
2. State declared new law banning laser jamming devices because there are enough of reports where ppl just jammed to gun an officer.

Would you like to comment on this or this is going to get erased?
thanx

Other than Laser ShifterPro, our shifters over the decades have always used this method of disabling them. I am not aware of anyone being charged for obstructing justice. Are you aware of this happening or are you just speculating to scare people?

Laser jammers are not illegal in most states and there's no way of the officer knowing if you're using one or not as long as it's not overly visible. The sole reason most cops don't use laser is that it takes lots of patience and accuracy, radar is much easier.

While laser jammers are not specifically prohibited in most states, getting caught using them (even where not outlawed) could lead to charges of attempted interference with police operations/obstruction which one would then have to be responded to in court (even if it could be won). Such a charge also be argued to be grounds for a vehicle search which is a hassle even if there is nothing to hide.

Agreed, they are very difficult to see on any vehicle when properly installed. In fact a friend who had both a RD and shifters installed was pulled over in VA and ticketed for his RD but they never saw his shifters. They were utilizing only a RDD at the time. However shifters, when in use can be fairly easily detected by lidar operators. Some LEO's lidar guns are capable of displaying a jam code from some shifters. In addition, all LEO's can tell you are using them when their lidar unit fails to display a speed as you drive past them, which would be the most common case. The ones I use don't have auto kill enabled, but I have the manual kill switch within very close reach. In the rare case that I let someone else drive my car without me in it, I disable the jammers completely before giving them the key.

Maybe you should ask one of your canadian distributors about a obstruction of justice lawsuit few years ago in BC.
Maybe you should read few traffic enforcement law codes by various states and provinces, police/court articles about jammers.
Maybe you should listen to what traffic cops are saying after a long Big Ticket Event day here in Alberta "I got jammed again stories" and that its getting to a point officers started complaining to whoever is up the chain.
This is not only Escort fault, but ALPs, LIs, Blinders, K40s. However, by implementing an autokill feature and set it up to 4 seconds auto-kill Escort would show integrity and honesty.
I personally dont run Escort jammers in my vehicles but was one of the first guys who reported on rdf ZR5 detected and jammed DET gun and I also posses Escort radar detector. We just dont want to see another Texas in another province or a state.

Counterpoint to all of this JTK talk is the fact that I may not want to automatically lose coverage after 4 seconds. I have a high end audio system in my car and most of the time I do not hear alerts until I see the LEO. I double tap at that point but I do not want a system that is supposed to protect me, automatically shutting off. Besides with my set up I am guessing they would get punch through at around 100 ft anyway at which point they would get a reading.

As was previously said, we will implement this soon and with an option to not use it. It will first be introduced on MAX Ci/iX Ci systems then later on select dash mount detectors.

We are also releasing new shifter firmware which improves performance against DragonEye guns, possibly as early as this week
