New galaxy note 8

I downloaded the latest software update and my MAX360 still does not connect with the Smart Cord.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice and the updated software still is not connecting.

The detector shows the speed limit of 70 then once I try to connect to bluetooth, the bluetooth symbol replaces the 70. And there is no connection. The phone software does show the bluetooth symbol.

Any ideas?

Please advise.

thx

The Max 360 SmartCord has nothing to do with connecting to Escort Live. Are you using a SmartCord Live cord (it has a serial number on the cig lighter end)? If so unpair the Live cord from your phone and only have your Max 360 paired.

The SMart Cord does not say live nor is there a serial # on the plug. Even not plugged in, the device still shows the bluetooth symbol.

So, I don't need the cord? If no, doesn't that defeat the purpose of Live Escort?

I think there's some confusion here.

The SmartCord that was supplied with your Max 360 is all that is needed, because the Max 360 has its own built-in Bluetooth.

If you are using an Escort Live SmartCord (called "SmartCord Live"), it also has BlueTooth built into it. The SmartCord Live SmartCord was developed for detectors like the original Max, the 9500ix and the original Redline because they lacked built-in BlueTooth, thereby enabling them to be used with Escort Live.

In short, if you have a SmartCord Live cable, you probably shouldn't be using it with a Max 360. Just use the regular SmartCord that was included with your purchase.

Asking...

Does your smartphone still have the pairing with the SmartCord Live cord? If so, delete that paring and perform a new pairing directly.

New Galaxy 8...

Hi guys, I got rid of my iPhone and got the G Note 8...and low and behold...the 360 MAX C doesn't want to pair with it. Just like my old MAX wouldn't pair with the damn iPhone. I just bought this thing...almost $800 with tax and everything...and it doesn't work with one of the most advanced phones on the planet??

The messages in this thread are almost 4 months old and the developer STILL hasn't produced a fix? Why is that? That is ridiculous guys...in this day and age. That's ridiculous. What good is this detector if it cannot pair to an Android device??

This radar detector is garbage without the ability to connect to the internet via a phone. So why isn't this a priority issue? What are all the people with Note 8's supposed to do while the "Developer" is sitting on his hands not fixing this problem??

I paid the subscription for this thing and now I can't use it for how long?? Months? Am I going to be credited the months that the detector cannot pair with my phone???

I'm sorry but I am furious about this. I drive for a living and to have the Bluetooth problem with this device problem after spending so much money is out of control! Why doesn't it SAY on the website that it doesn't work with the Galaxy Note 8?? In four months the developer hasn't figured out a fix?? Come on already. It does NOT take that long to fix a Bluetooth issue! Tell them to spend some money and hire some people with the skills to fix this!

Your MAX 360c should connect to your iPhone and Android phones. Has it ever paired with anything? Did you have the detector checked out?

When you register your detector you receive a free premium subscription to Escort Live.

You're joking right? I literally just got this a few months ago. I also bought an extra 1yr subscription.

Strange you should say that it should pair with any Android phone though because when I called Escort yesterday and spoke to a very nice young lady, she informed me that there is absolutely a connection problem to Galaxy Note 8 phones.

This Escort 360 Max C was connected to a an iPhone 6 before yesterday.

So what's the deal? Two stories, one over priced radar detector, and an unhappy customer...I bought this thing at the end of November, it's less than 3 months old and it cannot connect.

EDIT: I just spoke to a nice gentleman who said the fix would be out either today or Monday. Thank you for that information

A free premium subscription has always been included with Escort Live ready devices. That is not a new offer. It applies when you register the detector and create an Escort Live username.

There have been reports of bluetooth issues with some newer Android phones, most of which are using Android OS 8 (which was just released in January 2018). We are looking into these issues and hope to have a fix soon. The issue reported here sounded like it was due to user error.

Also, take TBNTX's advice of unpairing and re-pairing the detector to the phone. That sometimes solves Android pairing issues with MAX 360c.
